Question:
I've been reading a lot of postings on this website lately about
finding jobs which I've really enjoyed. I will be having four
interviews soon for elementary school teaching positions. Does anyone
have any ideas as to what may be asked by the interviewers?
Answer:
-What's the worst lesson you've ever taught, and how did you deal with it?
What book would you recommend to teach to X year?
How exactly has the curriculum changed in the last 18 months?
What would you do if a kid started screaming 'no' at you?
What clubs are you running in your placement?
What extra projects have you taken on?
What is your greatest weakness as a teacher (clue: say something minor, and
give a way you have learnt from it and already dealt with it BEFORE they
ask)
-I just had a job interview and I was asked the following questions:
What was the worst discipline problem you have had in a classroom?
In a perfect world, do you think students should be grouped or not grouped?
In a perfect world, do you think LA and Reading should be combined?
Give three words that describe middle school students.
Give three words to descibe yourself.
The "perfect world" questions caught me off guard.
