Question:
Resume for an Engineer ,any example ?
I have been working part-time as a recording engineer for over 3 years now.
I'd like to be working full-time and I'd like to send out a resume to some
studios and other potential employers. What kind of format should I use
for a resume? Should I include a CD of audio sampling the work that I have
done?
Answer:
-What you send is the easy part. The hard part is to find where to
send it. In general, studios aren't looking for help, and resumes
aren't usually kept on file. The way to get a job is to get known as
a person and an engineer, not a piece of paper. If there are no
studios where you live, decide where you'd like to live, get some
phone books for that area, make some phones calls (not letters, not
e-mail) to studios and feel out the area for job possibilities. If
you get any leads, ask when you can pay them a visit.
Then, go with some examples of your work and a brief summary of your
experience, of course containing your contact information. This is
pretty much of a face-to-face business.
-where are you located? Do you have experience in Ptools and Audiodesk?
