Question:
how to write Resume And Application Letter ?
which I set off by my bad spelling, reminds
me of what Mephistolpeles said to the student in act I of Goethe's
Faust
Answer:
-In response to the use of words in a resume/cover letter: many companies
are processing resumes through a scanner and they all wind up formatted
the same. The important thing to remember is that the keywords that best
describe your background are the only ones that will be entered by a
search program. Keep it simple and make sure you have all the correct
keywords.
-There is a "writing ethic" that sometimes puts "fluff" and "buzzwords"
and "buzz-phrases" in to make something look cute. Rejection letters are
just filled with purposeless detail meant to satisfy the ego of the
rejecting author but without really saying anything. Application letters
may also have this "fluff." Applicants who must go through the agony of
trying to figure out the right trade-off between putting in enough to be
interesting compared to the problem of possibly putting in more "turning
off" detail than "turning on" detail might want to substantially alter
their methods and/or their career goals. I find it disgusting when the
ratio of applicants to jobs is so high that people have to "sanitize,
homogenize, purify, synthesize, pasteurize" their cover letters and "cook
and design" their CVs and resumes so they fit through the "filters."
