Question:
The federal government (Public Service Commission) new job site sucks!!
I am talking about the new www.jobs.gc.ca where it is supposed to
automatically hold your resume etc. for you
May I ask what was wrong with the old one? It was very simple, you selected
the job for which you wanted to apply, clicked "Apply Online" and then
filled in the info, and finally pasted your resume and you were done. Now
it "saves" you resume, it's out there in cyber space somewhere. You log on,
and sometimes it will allow you to select a resume and sometimes it won't.
I selected "send resume" and I don't know if it's sent or not. This new and
"Improved" system is so awkward to use, it's unbelieable--but then again it
was created by government, should I be surprised.
Answer:
-I just went there for the second time. Tried to send my previously generated
resume for a position. Got some convoluted message. No telling it went through
or not. Tried again and again. Either I applied 6 times or not at all. Have a
feeling the last job I applied for on the old site is the last Fed job I'll
apply for. This site is absolutely pathetic. I sent them off an email to
complain. Perhaps they'll send me an instruction manual.
-The worst phrase of words to hear is, 'I am with the Federal Government and
I am here to help you,' or, 'I am with the Federal Government and I really
do know what I am doing
