Question:
I'm about to leave the military and don't have any experience writing resumes. I did this one with the resume maker deluxe. I used their ex- military template. Looking for opinions. I heard somewhere that employers are leery to hire someone from overseas. Should I change my address to a US one?

Answer:
-I'll go over this a little bit later, but just wanted to hit on one thing first, drop the References - Available upon request. Employers DON"T like to see that, they don't want to have to jump through hoops to get information. Give them the references, both business and personal. A good set of references can sway the eye when they have to choose between people. It also helps them look at your employment record. If you don't have any references from a place that you have been employed at, they get a little leary.

-show a state side address if possible, maybe parents, and indicate it as such - say something like permanent US address or US address contact data - change the font to a size smaller just to make it different any e-mail addresses or work phones/fax should indicate if it is OK to be contacted there.
