I need a professional email address (free) for a job hunt resume

Question:
I need a professional email address (free) for a job hunt resume. Yahoo Hot-mail all the names are used up and they look tacky email address's on the resume. Any suggestions?

Answer:
- go for some unreliable free one

-Well go and register you own domain $19.95 for .com or $30 for .ca and go to www.gotoecom.com and get their free webhosting account ($15 setup charge). Then set yourself up an email address.

--Can always try canada.com at: http://www.canada.com/email/

You're saying that all the names are used up.... if you are looking for something specific and without numbers, then odds are the name is already going to be taken... very slim odds that you'll be the first one to come up with something first nowadays.

If you go with a lesser service, like Softhome.net you might be able to get something like your name without any numbers, etc... but in this case, softhome's servers are down atleast once a day and occasionally bounce emails back to the sender.

So you have to look at reliabilty versus not having a number after your name...

I can also say that employers aren't going to look down on your resume because you use a free service... most people do nowadays (personally, this is my 7th ISP I've had since 1992... easier to get 1 long term email account rather than one that changes every year and a half).

-Maybe the Vancouver Community Network? www.vcn.bc.ca

But I don't know if VCN allows us to use it on resumes. So you might want to check their rules first. I've never used it for resumes because I first applied for a job at a time when nobody knew what an 'email' was.
