Does anyone have experience of having their CV / Resume on a Web Sites?

Question:
Does anyone have experience of having their CV / Resume on a Web Sites?

For example the typical trials and tribulations, problems and how to overcome them any successes any recommended sites (that are reasonably stable)

I am looking for a site(s) that would host, a not too complicated CV / Resume, maybe an odd GIF or simple animated GIF and a few pages of data. I suppose that in a way you could say it is a business site, as essentially you are trying to sell yourself !!! I can't immagine there would be a great deal of traffic. I am essentially in the Purchasing & Supplies / Materials / Inventory business. Not what most peole are interested in looking for.

If possible I would like to stay away from the banners and advert type of sites. It does'nt look too professional with all that garbage. I would prefer a free site, but if a charge was to be made, I would prefer a UK site, as I am UK based and it is a lot easier to pay in £'s rather that go through the $ exchange mechanisms

Answer:
-Not sure what you're expecting really... plenty of people do it... online portfolios, CVs, etc. Just create a nice HTML version, make it look decent, well laid out and formatted conservatively but efficiently.

Few places will ever care whether their space is used commercially... but really, it is hardly a commercial use, since it would still probably count as personal, due to the information held within.

www.f2s.com, www.brinkster.net, etc. there are a few free providers that don't apply advertising of any kind to the site. You could of course just signup for one of the still current free 0845 isps for a little bit of free webspace, which would suit your needs just as well, in all probality.

-Think you will find that anything free will have its draw backs. Have a look at www.portland.co.uk - about the only other free hpst I know of with no strings or banners but it can be unreliable. You can get reasonable hosting pretty cheap - have a look at www.bigbytze.co.uk for a list of budget hosts. www.34sp.com is pretty good VFM at £12 per annum (400mb a month bandwidth limit though) aceinternet are prtyy good for around £20.

Other than that, as previously suggested, use the freespace provided by an ISP.
