Resume & Cover Letter advice

Question:
Was updating my resume & cover letter template --- was wondering what ya'll thought about slapping the A+ after names, and where and when, etc. I have A+ mentioned in a sentence in cover letter, mentioned in resume in sentence format, and i have the graphic at the bottom, courtesy of someone in here ...

Should I put anything after my name in cover letter? And what about Top of resume, where my address is and stuff? If so - what format should I use? ( obviously I dont wanna over do it - but then again, I dont wanna not put it somewhere where it should be!)

Answer:
-DO NOT put the A+ graphic in your resume or cover letter, many recruiters will trash it - their opinion "it's cheesy". Place the certification in a special certification section (if you have more than one IT cert) or in your education section.

-This depends on where your resume is going (and you should have different resumes tweaked for every application). For most, a section in the resume entitled "Certifications" with your various certifications will do. Larger companies and recruiters will scan paper resumes, and you should have an electronic version available at all times, and those should not have logos.

As an aside, a growing trend in resumes is to have no cover letter since most are being sent electronically. This means your resume has to have all the things your cover letter used to carry. While a resume used to be just a list of where you worked or went to school and when, now it has to have the projects you worked on, what you provided to the companies you worked for and what you can bring to the table for the new position. The resume has to tell the prospective employer why they should hire you.
