Question:
I have a database in Access 2002 with a number of names, addresses, etc. When we do a search for a particular individual, we would like to bring up the pdf file of his/her resume which contains a picture and the skills possessed.

Is that possible with Access and how could this be accomplished?

Answer:
Open your table in design view, and add a field of type Hyperlink.

You can insert the hyperlink to the pdf file with the Insert menu. Then just clicking on the file will bring it up.

For an introduction to hyperlink fields, see: http://users.bigpond.net.au/abrowne1/casu-09.html
