Question:
I'm 43.
I did the chic thing in the early 80's, and got my MBA.
Have spent the better part of the last two decades in
the advertising biz.
Now I'm ready for career #2, so I decided to try
something I've been thinking about for 25 years--
This summer, I start nursing school, part-time, while I
continue to run a website development business at
an ad agency.
Has anyone here heard of anyone else who switched
to nursing as a geezer? Suddenly, I feel quite alone.
Excited, but alone
Answer:
There is a student in my class who is 55 (older than our oldest
instructor) but is the most motivated nursing student I've known. She is
incredible at what she does and it is obvious that she was meant to be a
nurse. She also has a grad degree and spent most of her years as a
banking executive. It is hard on her to be a lowly student again, but
she is determined & I deeply admire her for it. There are at least 3
other women in our class of 30 that are older than 40 yrs, so you're not
alone!!! Best of luck!!
