Question:
Are you sending your resume in the correct format? This is a very
recent problem in my opinion. Many candidates are beginning to send
their resumes in formats other than Microsoft Word. Most recruiters
need a Word resume. This is considered the "universal" format of
choice. With the plethora of resumes being received by recruiters,
it is easier to delete the resume than to ask the candidate to send
a different version.
Always send your resume in a Microsoft Word format.
Answer:
Any recruiter who demands that I send him my résumé in a closed,
proprietary format for which I must buy crappy, bloated software from
the most evil company in the industry, is not a recruiter with whom I
care to deal.
If you can't handle *one* of text, HTML or XML, then give it up and
go sell hot dogs on the beach. You don't belong in the computer
field.
