Question:
We posted a job opening we have at a local private University. We gave
specific instructions about including a cover letter. I'm amazed at the way
these new grads are sending in their job inquiries. I'm getting long essay
cover letters or some with no cover letter or note! I get some who paste
their resume in body of email in addition to attaching resume doc.
And the resumes are so poorly structured.. Don't they teach job hunting
skills in college anymore?? It's sad really...

-FYI - I find that if I am not getting the results I intended, I probably
have not communicated well on my part initially.
-robably looking for a marketing manager!
I would attribute the lack of care in the responses to a lack of real interest
in the respondents - even the lagging job market doesn't negate the fact that
you get what you pay for.
