Question:
When you get an e-mail in response to your on-line resume asking you
to apply at their site, and their site list no physical contact
information (address, phone, fax), just an e-mail address, be wary
about filling out the app!
I just filled out one of those, hit save, and was forwarded to an ad
for a book and DVD on resume writing.
Answer:
- Just got my first spam from these jerks. It's lightly sprinkled with
resume advice to make it seem like a service, but it's really just
advertising for their resume services and materials. I wonder how
long until they sell my e-mail address to a porn spammer.
- Are you suggesting that he should put that on his resume? What
kind of job is he applying for?
I haven't posted from my old college account in over five years,
and the quantity of spam I receive there is actually increasing.
Apparently, each spammer sells his list to as many spammers as
possible.
Since I've started posting my resume online, I've discovered that
posting your resume once anywhere gets you on the resume spam
lists. Interestingly, it also seems to get you on the pills-to-
make-your-penis-bigger spam lists. But so far, no porn. All the
porn spam goes to the other account. You'd think the penis-pills
guys and the porn guys would be talking to each other, but
apparently not.
